About the event

"La Noche y La Luna" is a choreographic research project based on the paintings of Edward Hopper and the metaphors and imagery of Federico García Lorca, especially in his "Gypsy Ballads." This duet is a continuation of a previous investigation into gesture, movement, and expression, influenced by the symbolism in Hopper's paintings, which reflect solitude, human interrelations, and waiting. Choreographers Werner and Ponce now expand this exploration by incorporating Lorca's metaphors and a musical selection including Schubert, Luís Martínez, and Simón Díaz, among others. The pictorial images and poetry are complemented by a crucial soundtrack that defines the atmosphere of the work, seeking a harmonious structure where gesture and movement are essential to transcend the stage and unify the art of life and performance.
