Questions? Answers! / Preguntas? ... y respuestas!

About the Program

The Opera Atelier presents the MOZ-Art Program, an engaging 7-week camp for children and youngsters who want to participate in a live opera production.

This program may be of special interest to those wishing to enter programs at magnet schools and college programs in performance and in general those wanting to pursue musical studies.

Participants will experience the full breadth of the art and industry of opera by engaging in the various components of a full opera production.

Besides voice lessons, diction, theory, notation classes, coaching, and rehearsals, students will design and build props, and virtual scenery, and create marketing campaigns, among other elements.

The MOZ-Art program will culminate with a production of a full opera. Additionally, the students will participate in public presentations of solos and ensembles in various Miami-Dade venues.

Plans for this year include a new production of Frau Haydn in Trouble, libretto and music by D. Daroca

Requirements:

*The attendance commitment is essential. The commitment to excellent attendance and punctuality is essential since this is an intensive program that concludes with public performances in Miami-Dade venues. Opera is a complex art that demands a significant investment in time and effort from all the participants working together towards a common goal: the success of the final production. Thus, the full schedule of classes, lessons, rehearsals, and coaching sessions requires the participation of all involved.

*Children enrolled in the program should not participate in any other Summer Camp or performance program during the program period (June 10 – July
21, 2024).

*Participants should be available for all performances, including recitals and production.
