About the event

A recital to honor the legacy of the internationally acclaimed Polish American violinist Ida Haendel. This program is part of The Opera Atelier series “No Room of Her Own", which celebrates the extraordinary achievements of trailblazing women in the arts. Maestro Haendel made Miami her home for many years and developed a faithful following. She is remembered by many of her colleagues, students, and admirers in Miami Beach and Greater Miami Community, as well as all over the world, for her musical genius, the generosity of her warm spirit, and her down-to-earth demeanor.

Erzhan Kulibaev and Daniel Daroca will delight the audience with classical works including some of Ida Haendel’s signature repertory, such as the Hebrew melody by Joseph Achron, and the Carmen Fantasie by Sarasate. The program will also include works by women composers such as Clara Wieck and Maria Symanowska.

The evening’s guest artists, the acclaimed soprano Eglise Gutierrez will offer jewels of the repertory, such as French arts songs.
