The Opera Atelier, in collaboration with Voices of Miami, presents Spain, My Love ~ Cuba, My Love at the beautiful Miracle Theatre in Coral Gables, on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at 8:00 p.m.,  to commemorate Spanish Heritage Month. 

For generations, the allure of Spain has ignited the imagination of writers, painters, and composers, from Beaumarchais to Mérimée, to Bizet, Sarasate, Massenet, and Verdi. The repertory includes representative selections from beloved Spanish-themed operas,  Il Trovatore, Don Carlo, Ernani, and Carmen, all highlighting the common heritage of Spain. Brilliant zarzuela selections -the Spanish equivalent of operetta- will round out the program, with an exciting cast of top international artists, and outstanding local singers.

Cuban music needs no introduction, ever since legendary Cuban musicians conquered the world, and the rumba, the bolero, the guaracha, the mambo, the son, and the salsa, took the world by storm. Composers such as Lecuona, White, Roig, and Anckermann left us also unforgettable classical melodies, some of which the audience will enjoy the evening of September 30.

A cast of excellent soloists,  and Voices of Miami, will uplift the audience. Soloists in alphabetical order include Jorge Arcila, Yetzabel Arias, Marinel Cruz, Greisel Domínguez, Eglise Gutiérrez, Carlos Jimeno, Erzhan Kulibaev, Silvia Ludueña, and Carlos Silva, accompanied by pianist Daniel Daroca.

Durante muchas generaciones, el atractivo de España ha acaparado la imaginación de escritores, pintores y compositores, desde Beaumarchais hasta Mérimée, Bizet, Sarasate, Massenet y Verdi. El repertorio del programa incluye selecciones representativas de las más apreciadas óperas con temática española, como "Il Trovatore", "Don Carlo", "Ernani" y "Carmen", obras que resaltan la herencia cultural de España. Brillantes selecciones de zarzuela (el equivalente en español de la opereta) completarán el programa, con un magnifico elenco de destacados artistas internacionales y locales.

La música cubana no necesita presentación, desde que legendarios músicos cubanos conquistaron el mundo con la rumba, el bolero, la guaracha, el mambo, el son y la salsa. Por otra parte, compositores como Lecuona, White, Roig y Anckermann también nos legaron inolvidables melodías clásicas, algunas de las cuales el público disfrutará la noche del 30 de septiembre. 

Un elenco de excelentes solistas y Voces de Miami elevarán al público.
